Statement of Intent
In my advertisement for a ground breaking tv documentary, I will follow the ASA guidelines but not showing any graphic content that may cause distress or harm to viewers. No blood, graphic content or weapons will be used in my advertisement so no harm can be caused. This means that my posters will be able to be viewed by any age of viewer therefore allowing my advertisement to reach a larger range of audiences especially children.
My documentary will be tailored for 16–25-year-olds to love as it follows the story of young people trying to create a band. This means the people in the documentary are relatable to the audience and people. The people are also part of the indie rock community which is becoming increasingly popular with the younger generation further building the relatability to people aged between 16-25. The posters will also positively represent young people expressing their emotions and feelings through music and promoting listening to new and upcoming bands trying to break into the industry.
The poster will also gain attention by the different colours used in the poster. Vibrant colours such as blue and yellow will be used to gain the attention of viewers especially a younger audience. On the poster I will also only have one person on to let the audience focus on that specific poster and take more attention to other things in the posters such as props or costume.
The duo trying to break into the music industry will be portrayed as hard working to promote the idea of working hard to achieve your dreams and to dream big. The duo will be wearing more alternative clothing to portray the idea of a rock group and them expressing themselves not just through their music, but also their fashion. This will portray upcoming bands in a good way by showing the hard work it takes and to encourage others to.
The main idea for my posters is a music themed documentary. My documentary is about a young rock group trying to break into the music industry and write new music. I chose this as I have a passion for music and it fits in well with the specification as rock music, especially indie rock, is increasing in popularity with young people especially with younger bands such as the kooks, two door cinema club and the Ks. These bands are extremely popular with young audiences as they are relatable which is what I am aiming in my documentary.
